Can you believe the holidays are upon us already? It seems like we were just talking about Spring '09 markets, and now the year is almost over. We at aquaBling wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

We have been up to some really exciting things lately! First off, I want to apologize for my neglect in posting for the last couple of months. I do want to mention, however, that I do a bit of blogging on http://www.myworkbutterfly.com, as well as guest blogging now and then. October is breast cancer awareness month, and what an important month it is. Last year over 250 thousand women were diagnosed with and underwent treatment for breast cancer. Undoubtedly, most of you have been affected personally in some way by breast cancer, whether you, yourself, were diagnosed, or a friend or family member. And treatment, although vital, is long, painful, and life-altering for the women who are going through it.

Where has the summer gone? Honestly, one minute I am making all sorts of plans to enjoy my summer, and the next minute I am looking at my half-done list and wondering where the time has gone! I hope everyone had wonderful summers! Now things are winding down and we're getting ready for fall. For those of you who are parents, it can mean getting the kids ready for school, sports, and extracurricular activities. And, while it is nice to get them back into a routine, it can be an extremely hectic time getting everything ready!

Whew...Summer is here, and I couldn't be happier! I am a pretty big busybody, so summer is the best for me, since it means vacations, impromptu barbecues, and tons and tons of parties!

Well, it has been a whirlwind of activity for aquaBling lately! We have had lots of media spots, which have been wonderful in getting the word out about our product, mission, and philosophy. Whew...we are back from Vegas. What a whirlwind trip it was...full of surprises! The booth setup in Seattle never made it to Vegas, and so when we arrived on Friday, we weren't sure we would have anything to set up! A thousand phone calls, sweet-talkings, one personal visit, and a ton of money later (remember, this is Vegas), everything came together, and we had a fabulous show! And because of the adversity we had to overcome, we appreciated our success even more.

A good friend of mine recently informed me about an island of trash floating in the Pacific Ocean, called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. This "island" is 350 tons, about twice the size of Texas, and is 80 percent plastic. The negative effects of this island are serious and many. Plastic is not biodegradable, but rather photodegradable, which means the pieces break down into smaller pieces. Birds, fish, and other marine life ingest these small particles and are either poisoned or choke.

...You'd better believe it! And, we've got some really exciting things planned for the show, including release of four new charm styles! We'll unveil them at the ASD/AMD Variety show, and they will be available for purchase immediately after. The new designs are absolutely fabulous, and allow you to personalize your lives even further. We've also got some hot new aquaBling accessories in the works...stay tuned to find out what those are!
